Creative Practitioner

Prior to being a full time artist, I was a teacher for 22 years. Trained as an early years teacher, I taught in nursery, primary and secondary settings, across mainstream, special and alternative provisions, with SEN and autism as my specialisms. Since leaving teaching in 2022, I have worked in a number of creative practitioner roles and continue to do so.

I am able to combine my skills and experience of learning with my own creative practice to deliver sessions/ workshops and projects that are inspiring and engaging using my years of experience of working with children and young people.

If you would like further information on ways I can work with you then please email me and we can start a conversation.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Ryedale Open Studios: Art Group
The remit of the group was to open the young people up to different ways of expressing themselves through art and how they could use the influences of other artists as a starting point.

Alternative Provision in Harrogate

In this short project I used the work of Daisy Parris, Joan Mitchell and Louise Bourgeois to inspire a collaborative montage of abstract pieces of art to be mounted in the school corridor. Students were given the opportunity to share things about themselves and they could either bury these in the artwork or reveal them to viewers of the final piece.

SEMH School in Harrogate

The purpose of the project was to start the group off on a installation piece which they could complete after my involvement. It was to create a series of boards to be mounted outside school to share the values of the group.
